Perjalanan ke Batam (Trip to Batam)
I'm back from my mini getaway. It's short but its worth it, after all getting out of the bustling Singapore makes things around you seem less fast-paced and time seemed to slow down.
Met girlfriend at MRT station and headed to Harbourfront, and its a FRIDAY! (Okay, I think those who know, know what I'm talking about) But its too early to be possible to meet. Anyway, headed to Mac to satisfy my month-long craving for hotcakes while waiting for boyfriend and boyfriend to come since they were caught up by the train. After which, went to check in and getting ready to head to our destination, BATAM! Being there at 1015, we all slept throughout the entire journey despite being excited about the trip. Upon reaching then we were whizzed off to our hotel, Novotel, which is like 25 mins journey from Batam Centre.
Checked in while waiting for boyfriends' room to be ready, unpacked and watching the tele. Afterwhich we decided to explore the hotel and went roaming and take random stupid photos which I've yet to received from girlfriend. Anyway, we went to book our spa appointment, basically the reason why we are there in the first place. Finally, after waiting for 2 hours, boyfriends' room is ready. Opened the connecting doors and something funny happened when boyfriend went to his room alone via the connecting doors,
Me: Young, did you check the cupboard? In case there's someone inside.
Young: (walking) aiyo, can you dont say that or not!! scary eh. i'm alone in the room somemore.
Me: HAHAHAHA... that's what my teacher told me when we went for our China trip.
Young: You go check lar!
It's darn hilarious given at that very point of time and his reaction. Anyway, afterwhich we took the shuttle bus service which was late by 15mins, to Mega Mall to fill our empty stomach. Then shopping at Hypermart where things are so freaking cheap, and not forgetting girlfriend having a hard time differentiating 1000 rupiah from 10000 rupiah. It's really hilarious to see people trying to figure how much is how much. At the end of it, we drag 2 boxes of maggie, 4 bags of groceries and a dozen of donuts back. Around 8, the four of us went to Sauna before heading for our Spa. Both girlfriend and I did the Warm Stone Massage and Ear-candling which is super shiok. Went back to shower and the guys come over to play card games, then they complained hungry and decided to order McDonalds. Boyfriend using his broken Malaysia Malay to communicate with the fluent-Indonesia-malay operator for the orders which took about 45mins before reaching our mouths. Ate and watched National geographics, before we know, its 2am already. Cleared and slept the night away.
Morning came. Woke up around 8am and got ready for breakfast at 9am. Gulped down jucies one after another to hydrate ourselves and as usual our nonsensical talks and laughters all the way till 11am, the very last group of people to leave the restaurant. Went back to our rooms and packed our stuffs and its napping time. Checked out at 1245pm and transferred to Batam Centre where girlfriend purchase her numerous order of Polo. Then its back to Singapore. Short but sweet. Hopefully we can travel together again, with Katty, Shaoling, Candice, and Lisi. Haven't we all wanted to do it so badly back in our secondary school days?
